Michel Trottier

Candidate in Laval-les-Îles | District #17

Founder of Parti Laval and former municipal opposition leader, Michel Trottier is making a remarkable return to politics to represent the citizens of Laval-les-Îles. City councillor from 2013 to 2021, then Leader of the Opposition from 2019 to 2021, he has twice run for mayor. Recognized for his rigor and accessibility, he has always been a staunch defender of local services, transparency and sound management of public finances.

A former teacher and school administrator, he was also vice-president of the Association montréalaise des directions d'établissements scolaires, putting education and the community at the heart of his career. Remaining active after his time at City Hall, he continued to contribute in the field, notably as a substitute teacher in Laval's elementary school.

Well-established in the West Island, Michel knows the realities of Laval-les-Îles, a sector he feels has been neglected by the current administration. By getting involved again, he wants to give this district the attention and equity it deserves, by focusing on improving local services, protecting the environment and developing the Grand parc de l'Ouest, a promising project to preserve natural environments while offering greater access to family, educational and recreational activities.
