Municipal elections | Claude Larochelle entrusts Louise Lortie with the vice-presidency of the executive committee and presents his priorities for the first 100 days.
Laval, Tuesday, October 28, 2025 - Parti Laval- Équipe Larochelle mayoral candidate Claude Larochelle announced this morning his priorities for the first 100 days of a Larochelle administration. Affirming his willingness to act from Day 1 with a competent, responsible and efficient team, he took the opportunity to announce his intention to appoint Louise Lortie as vice-president of the executive committee: "After twelve years of decisions by the Boyer administration that failed to meet the real needs of citizens, things have got to change. From day one, we'll be ready to take action to restore our population's confidence and get Laval back on track by taking care of real business," declared Claude Larochelle.
Louise Lortie named Vice-Chair of the Executive Committee
Marc-Aurèle-Fortin city councillor since 2021, former president of the Commission scolaire de Laval (CSDL) for 11 years and former vice-president of the Fédération des commissions scolaires du Québec, Louise Lortie has a solid background in management and public governance. "Ms. Lortie embodies the experience, competence, efficiency and proximity to the field that are essential to the success of our actions, particularly in our first 100 days. She represents the DNA of Parti Laval: a responsible and efficient administration that listens to the needs of the people of Laval," noted Mr. Larochelle.
Act quickly on priority issues
In its first 100 days, Claude Larochelle's team will quickly tackle three priorities. First, to protect Laval from flooding by investing at least $800 million to maintain and modernize water, sewer and aqueduct infrastructures, and by creating a Fonds bleu lavallois to help the City and its citizens better cope with climatic events. Mr. Larochelle would also like to rapidly reinforce neighbourhood safety by increasing the number of police officers assigned to neighbourhood patrols by 50 %, and by asking the Quebec government for municipal control of photo radar in order to optimize its use and reinvest the revenues generated in measures to make streets and neighbourhoods safer.
In the first 100 days of his mandate, Parti Laval's mayoral candidate also pledges to launch a vast project to improve local sports and cultural infrastructures, starting with the development of a 16-court pickleball center and three other 8-court sites throughout the territory, as well as assessing the potential of the Richard-Trottier arena, now closed for 4 years, to turn it into an indoor sports venue.
"After 12 years in power, Mr. Boyer is finally promising to take care of the essentials, but the public no longer trusts him. People aren't fooled. Laval deserves better, and at Parti Laval, we're ready to take care of the real business: flooding, safety and infrastructure and services in the neighborhoods," concluded Mr. Larochelle.
