Municipal elections | Claude Larochelle completes his team in the east and downtown areas

Laval, Friday, August 29, 2025 - Claude Larochelle, leader of Parti Laval and candidate for mayor, presented this morning two new candidates joining the ranks of his political party in Duvernay and Souvenir-Labelle, thus completing the Parti Laval team in eastern Laval and downtown. For the November 2 election, Guillaume Lajoie (Duvernay) and Michèle Larose (Souvenir-Labelle) will be running for the political party led by Mr. Larochelle. "Parti Laval attracts high-quality candidates. Guillaume and Michèle are still excellent examples. Things need to change in Laval. It's time to get down to real business, and it's candidates who are committed and rooted in their community, like them, who can make it happen," declared Parti Laval leader and mayoral candidate Claude Larochelle.

Guillaume Lajoie for Duvernay

The 18th candidate to be announced for Parti Laval - Équipe Larochelle is not a first-time campaigner in Laval. The opposition candidate in Duvernay, Guillaume Lajoie, was a candidate in Mille-Îles in the October 2022 provincial election.

Introduced by Mr. Larochelle as a seasoned professional in strategic communications, public affairs and citizen mobilization, Guillaume Lajoie intends to draw on more than 15 years of professional experience to serve the citizens of the neighborhood he adopted with his wife to raise their family of three boys. With an MBA from HEC Montréal and a master's degree in public and international affairs, he has worked with NPOs, companies and political parties, as well as distinguishing himself in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship with Startup Montréal and the Mouvement des accélérateurs d'innovation du Québec. Involved in Laval for many years, he chairs the board of directors of Mieux-Naître à Laval and CPE Force Vive, and sat on the ad hoc committee on the French language set up thanks to Parti Laval - Équipe Larochelle, where he contributed to the report submitted to City Council in June 2025.

The candidate claims to have entered politics to improve the quality of life of Duvernay families through local infrastructure and quality municipal services. In his words, Laval "deserves to be treated fairly compared to other regions of Quebec". "It's for these reasons that I want to get involved in municipal politics. These are aspects that were neglected by the Boyer administration, but that Parti Laval is proud of. Supporting our families, our neighborhoods, but also valuing the French language in order to build bridges between generations and communities. The City has these responsibilities, and it's time to act. I also want to continue fighting for Laval to finally get a birthing center. We have to push for our fair share of services and be treated fairly, like other regions," explains Guillaume Lajoie.

Michèle Larose for Souvenir-Labelle

In Souvenir-Labelle, Michèle Larose, a passionate politician who has been involved in her community since a very young age, will be seeking the position of ward councillor for Parti Laval - Équipe Larochelle. A mother of two, the young candidate says she is particularly sensitive to issues of road safety, infrastructure management and quality of public services.

Currently completing a certificate in law at the Université de Montréal and a major in environment, society and transitions, she first worked as a paralegal, then as a bailiff, before joining the Ville de Montréal, where she now participates in the development and implementation of real estate strategies and analyses in the Service de la stratégie immobilière. Her career path has enabled her to acquire solid legal, management and planning skills, which, according to Parti Laval, are essential for effectively addressing municipal issues.

"I want Laval to be safer, more accessible and closer to the people. The only real option to get it is Parti Laval. A major change is needed in Laval and Souvenir-Labelle," declared Michèle Larose.
