At the same time, Parti Laval leader and mayoral candidate Claude Larochelle announced that Mr. Caron would be his team's candidate in the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul district, where he grew up, raised his family and ran in the November 2021 municipal election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>A reliable, unifying alternative<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A 2021 candidate in the Saint-Vincent-de-Paul district, Yann Caron joined the Second Opposition (Action Laval) early last year with the same objective that drives him to this day: to put the municipal administration back at the service of citizens and contribute to a changing of the guard at Laval City Hall, an administration he feels is marked by a lack of listening and transparency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>On his Facebook page, the candidate declared this morning that he was leaving Action Laval, to which he tendered his resignation earlier this week, to join Claude Larochelle's team. \"I am proud to announce that I am officially joining the Parti Laval team [...]. I've been thinking about it for a while and I've come to the conclusion that Parti Laval is the only real, credible and competent alternative to bring about the change we need in Laval. When I met Mr. Larochelle, I immediately saw that he was building a competent, representative and humane team with values that resonate with me, and I immediately felt that this was where I belonged. We have to come together if we want change and if we want to be heard, and that's exactly what Parti Laval is doing,\" he announced in his publication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Yann Caron returns to his roots<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A native of Saint-Vincent-de-Paul, where he grew up and later founded his family, this will be Yann Caron's second election campaign in this southeast Laval district. A graduate in nutrition from the Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al's Faculty of Medicine, Claude Larochelle's new recruit has built a career spanning more than 25 years in logistics and operations, holding national management positions in key sectors such as distribution, transportation and municipal procurement. A former municipal employee with Ville de Laval and, more recently, a manager in the city's purchasing department, Parti Laval presents him as someone who knows from the inside how municipal operations work, and the levers for action to concretely improve the lives of the people of Laval. The candidate explains that he wants to \"make Saint-Vincent-de-Paul a safer and better-served district by advancing transportation, the local economy and sound financial management in Laval.\"<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\"Yann Caron is an exceptional addition to our team. Impliqu\u00e9e au sein de la Communaut\u00e9 jeunesse de Parti Laval, la jeune candidate souhaite aujourd\u2019hui \u00ab&nbsp;apporter du changement en politique municipale \u00e0 Laval&nbsp;\u00bb.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Pour Val\u00e9rie, la campagne ne sera certainement pas en terrain inconnu, elle qui a grandi dans une famille bien implant\u00e9e \u00e0 Laval et impliqu\u00e9e dans le monde du sport sur l\u2019\u00eele, un engagement qui se refl\u00e8te notamment dans le changement de nom de l\u2019ar\u00e9na Samson, renomm\u00e9 en l\u2019honneur de son oncle Martin St-Louis.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Quelques kilom\u00e8tres plus \u00e0 l\u2019est, pour Marigot, c\u2019est Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique Brunet-Maheu, qui cumule plus de 20 ans d\u2019exp\u00e9rience en gestion, service \u00e0 la client\u00e8le et h\u00f4tellerie de prestige en ayant occup\u00e9 des postes de direction au sein des h\u00f4tels Fairmont et \u00e0 HEC Montr\u00e9al, qui joint les rangs de Parti Laval.<\/p>\n<!-- \/wp:paragraph -->\n\n<!-- wp:paragraph -->\n<p>Fr\u00e9d\u00e9rique est impliqu\u00e9e depuis toujours dans des comit\u00e9s, aupr\u00e8s des jeunes et dans le milieu scolaire, elle a si\u00e9g\u00e9 sur des conseils d\u2019\u00e9tablissement et d\u2019administration de CPE, en plus de participer \u00e0 de nombreux projets collectifs. Ayant grandi entre Laval-des-Rapides et Marigot, elle provient d\u2019une famille profond\u00e9ment ancr\u00e9e dans les milieux communautaires, sociaux et politiques lavallois. Son grand-p\u00e8re, Paul Marcel-Maheu, a notamment \u00e9t\u00e9 conseiller municipal de l\u2019ancienne Ville de Laval-des-Rapides de 1950 \u00e0 1959 puis de 1962 \u00e0 1965.
